yTh3 Holidays: AMINA COWL

Today we are adding to the Amina Collection! Project number four is the Amina Cowl and together with the Amina Earwarmer it would make a cozy gift set. Continue reading below for the pattern.

I went back and forth trying to decide if this cowl should have a more relaxed or structured look. I eventually polled my followers on instagram and the relaxed fit won hands down. This pattern uses a simple construction and is easily customizable.

Below you'll find the instructions for the adult size. Let's get started.

Materials:

• worsted weight yarn (held double)

• 10 mm crochet hook

• scissors

• tapestry needle

• measuring tape

• stitch markers

Notes:

* Pattern is written in standard US terms*

* A tutorial for the herringbone single crochet stitch is available here.

* Gauge: 4" x 4" = 9 stitches x 6 rows hsc

* Finished measurements: 26" circumference / 10.5" height

Abbreviations:

sc - single crochet

hsc - herringbone single crochet

Pattern:

With yarn held double, chain 61.

Step 1: Sc into second chain from hook. Hsc into remaining stitches. Join in the round. Chain one and turn your work. (60 stitches).

Step 2: Reverse sc into the first stitch. Reverse hsc into each of the remaining stitches. Join last stitch to first stitch in the round. Chain one and turn your work. (60 stitches)

Step 3: Sc into the first stitch. Hsc into remaining stitches. Join last stitch to first stitch in the round. Chain one and turn your work. (60 stitches).

Step 4: Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you have a total of 18 rows. Finish off and weave ends.
