#thejazzyornament | crochet tutorial

The first of many patterns that use the jasmine stitch heading your way :)

The Jasmine Stitch is one of my favorite crochet stitches. It looks very intricate but it actually has a simple construction. This stitch is made up of clusters of puff stitches that when combined create a fabric that looks like flowers. The fabric looks the same on both sides and is very squishy.

One major thing to note is that this stitch uses a lot of yarn. It is definitely a "yarn eater" so keep that in mind when planning out projects.

Today's project is quick and only uses about 40 yds of yarn. It would be perfect to make for markets, gifts and of course making your own holiday decor.

Okay, let's get started!

  • 37m/40yds Hobbii Pearly Haze Yarn

  • 4mm hook

  • 2.6 inch diameter ornament (round)

  • tapestry needle

  • scissors

  • Pattern is written using standard US terms.

  • The pattern uses the jasmine stitch. Check out this tutorial to learn the basics of this stitch before you get started.

  • finished size: 3 inch diameter ornament

  • The written pattern is available for purchase here. It includes diagrams and step by step pictures to accompany each step and detailed written explanations of each stitch.

That concludes the tutorial! Share your finished projects with and tag them with #thejazzyornament #yarnTh3oryTaughtMe #yarnTh3ory

Happy Crafting!
